Our dedicated team is rewriting the story of what is possible for St. Louis youth.

Erion Johnson, Sr.

Founder & Lead Teacher

Erion “Prop Man” Johnson founded Youth Builders STL and the Tiny Homes Project to build safe, sustainable homes while empowering youth with valuable trade skills, a sense of purpose, and real belonging. A tradesman shaped by his own journey from Job Corps to community leader, Erion’s philosophy is “When you give a young person a chance to show up and build something, you’re not just teaching a skill. You’re changing their story.”

Since 2017, Erion has mentored young people and taught trades not just to keep them out of trouble, but to offer them a new path. Through hands-on learning, his approach instills discipline, pride, and confidence in every student — so opportunity becomes a launching point for a bright future. Erion’s vision is rooted in trusting young adults with real responsibility and celebrating their growth as they earn pride, respect, and a sense of “I did that,” one project at a time.
